Welcome to The Sturgis Airport

The Sturgis Municipal Airport is located in Union County, KY approximately one mile east of Sturgis. It was built in 1941 and included 1307.2 acres that were acquired by the US Army in order to provide advanced pilot training during the war.

A Union County Airboard was established in 1948, and not only have many aviation improvements been made over the past 50+ years, but community minded improvements have given the airport property something for everyone.

The Sturgis Unicom Airport staff caters to private as well as corporate aircraft. While an aircraft is being fueled, pilots & their passengers can relax in the terminal lounge or investigate the airport grounds.

The grounds to the left of the main entrance is home to The Union County Fair, a summer event that has been anticipated by Union and surrounding counties for over 50 years. The grounds house a 44,000 sq. ft. Convention and Expo Center and a 1/2 mile horse racing track. Another annual summer event is the Little Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Races for charity. A recent addition is a public nine hole golf course near the 22 acre lake, a lovely, quiet area that Union Countians enjoy daily.

The Sturgis Airport Industrial Park is presently home to six well established businesses and with 400 remaining acres, it is a great place for any business to locate. Hometown hospitality is just one asset that goes along with growth and opportunity.

The Union County Airboard and Airport Staff would like to thank you for visiting our website. Please review our pages and discover what we already know -- The Sturgis Airport and surrounding property is a well kept secret that we are willing to share with you.
